Luxury holidays in Srinagar

Colourful houseboats bobbing on the lake and an impressive mountain backdrop frame Srinagar – the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, and the largest city in the region. Wind your way through Old City Srinagar to spot mosques, temples, and what remains of Hari Parbat, the Mughal emperor's impressive hilltop fortress. Check out the Unesco-listed Mughal Gardens of Srinagar, then hop on a traditional wooden shikara boat to explore Sal and Nagin Lakes, or organise a trekking experience in the nearby Himalayas.

When to go

Srinagar does not have a proper monsoon season, so effectively has two seasons: winter and summer. The best time to visit is from April to October, when the valleys are covered in flowers.
