Luxury holidays in Leipzig

Emerging as former Eastern Germany’s poster child for a new age, now bang-on-trend Leipzig now draws budding creatives and history-buffs alike, impressing with a vivacious music scene, restored underground bars and verdigris-domed buildings. Admire immersive exhibitions at former power station Kunstkraftwerk or wander through local youth-focused galleries in Plagwitz. And, while its future thrives, it’s important to dive into its storied past too; head to Runde Ecke, an ex-Stasi office from the Cold War, now preserved in Leipzig’s modernised hub. Give at least one evening to the city’s multitude of rock-rhythmed nightclubs and boozing bars.
