Luxury holidays in Rye, East Sussex

Rye stands apart from other coastal market towns for its remarkably intact mediaeval architecture, the quaintness of its cobbled lanes and its location atop a plump little hill, lending it the atmosphere of a citadel — albeit a very welcoming one. There are some of Sussex's most celebrated pubs and restaurants here, as well as a particular sense of humour (see the names of some of its cottages). Camber Sands is just down the road and the lively creative hub of Hastings is a day-hike away along a dramatic cliff edge.
