When to go

Cyprus is a year-round destination, but sees more visitors between May and October. For Nicosia’s historic sights and diminutive dining and drinking spots, the quieter, cooler winter months come into their own.

  Nicosia is around an hour’s drive from Larnaca International Airport and approximately two hours from Paphos International Airport.

  Finding parking is the main barrier to driving — especially if you’re staying within the city’s Old Town. But a set of wheels may come in handy for exploring the sun-kissed countryside and Med-lapped coast beyond the city walls.
