When to go

Elqui Valley has year-round sunshine and balmy temperatures, but visits between March and May are free of summer crowds and replete with wine-centric festivals.

Getting there

  • Planes

    Fly into Santiago’s international airport, then it’s a one-hour connecting flight to La Serena, Elqui Valley’s biggest city.

  • Automobiles

    If you prefer to be in the driver’s seat, hire a car to make your own way between Elqui’s wineries and observatories. Otherwise, tours and transfers are easily arranged.
