Curation Assistant

Six week Internship - Fully remote

Reporting to: Hotel & Villa Curator
Working closely with: Curation/Partnership and Knowledge teams

In under two decades, Mr & Mrs Smith has grown from a cult guidebook to the travel club for hotel lovers with over 1.3 million members and a hand-picked collection of more than 1,800 hotels. The role of Curation Assistant is a six week paid summer intership and is key to the next phase of Mr & Mrs Smith’s growth as we continue to curate the world’s most desirable hotel collection.

Responsibilities

• Update Salesforce with key data on potential leads to ensure that all relevant information is there for our Hotel & Villa Curators to review (hotel size, location, ADR, channel manager, opening date, best price promise, etc) 

• Analyse competitor sites to ensure we have the most competitive offering prior to the hotel launch, focusing on areas such as the Smith extra offered

• Check new hotel launches to see where we can optimise location, images and key selling points 

• Market analysis: identify new airlift routes into our core destinations and report on new opportunities (focus on US routes to EMEA/South America) 

• Update Powerpoint slides for presentations of our newly launched hotels on a weekly basis for our trading team, to showcase new arrivals and maximise the hotels’ visibility 

• Assist our onboarding team when Hotel & Villa Curators are away and chase fee payments, and track down Smith Extras and review vouchers 

• Data analysis and reporting to scope new opportunities (internal)

Requirements

• The ability to work in a fast-paced team, prioritising a busy workload

• A can-do attitude, team player, collaborative individual with an adaptive mindset

• Attention to detail, promptness and accuracy 

• Exceptional communication and organisational skills

• Familiarity with Salesforce, Google Drive, Microsoft Office (Excel proficiency is a must), Asana and quick adoption of new databases and systems

• A keen eye for style and design

• Fluency in Spanish would be an advantage
