There’s a lot brewing in Asheville, the crucible of creativity in North Carolina’s Blue Ridge Mountains. And it’s not just the many, many – many – craft beers they small-batch in a big way here, although with more micro-breweries per capita than any other US city, you won’t find yourself thirsting. No, its art scene has practically re-drawn the whole town plan, taking over factory buildings in the River Arts District and the industrial buildings Downtown. And then there’s the enormous Biltmore estate, George Vanderbilt’s own cache of thousands of treasures. As cities do when creatives come in droves, Asheville has also established a live-music scene that’s drawn legends and next big things, and a dining scene you could deep dive into for weeks on end. All in all, a heady brew indeed.
