In under two decades, Mr & Mrs Smith has grown from a cult guidebook to the travel club for hotel lovers with over 1.3 million members and a hand-picked collection of more than 1,800 hotels. The role of Associate Product Manager is key to the next phase of Mr & Mrs Smith’s growth as we continue to curate the world’s most desirable hotel collection.

Role

We are looking for a proactive and ambitious Associate Product Manager to join our growing Product team. The Associate Product Manager is an entry-level product role designed to teach and develop fundamental Product Management skills. In this role, you will own a small product or feature, supporting the broader product team and working closely with stakeholders at all levels across the business to deliver value through Smith’s technology.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the execution of the Product strategy and collaborate with other Product Managers and Tech leads in developing the Product roadmap.

• Actively participate in the entire Product development lifecycle, from strategic planning to tactical execution.

• Learn and understand Agile best practices, supporting the Agile process and its ceremonies: facilitating communication and collaboration amongst the Scrum team.

• Break down initiatives into functional stories, maintaining a clear focus on delivering value with our limited resources.

• Maintain the backlog for your Product and manage dependencies on other teams: prioritising and balancing competing demands, based on the product strategy and metrics.

• Assisting with market and user research activities, analysing feedback to uncover customer needs and potential product opportunities.

• Keeping stakeholders informed on progress and blockers, and confidently presenting to peers and managers, ensuring alignment with our evolving product strategy.

• Work closely with the Engineering team, actively learning and understanding Engineering principles and processes.

• Actively suggest Product improvements, articulate opinions about business processes, and challenge tech requests to ensure alignment with business goals.

• Monitor and evaluate Product performance using relevant KPIs and stakeholder feedback.

• Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

About You

Whilst this role requires no technical skills, we value curiosity, empathy and a willingness to drive change. You should be able to demonstrate strong communication skills and a desire to solve complex problems.

Core skills

• Communication: Ability to clearly and confidently interact with stakeholders at all levels.

• Problem-solving: Capacity to proactively identify and address challenges with innovative solutions.

• Prioritisation: Ability to focus on tasks that align with strategic goals, even if it means saying no to great ideas that don’t align with our strategic direction.

• Empathy: The compassion to understand the experiences of others and to reflect back on that understanding in the work you do.

• Curiosity: Comfortable with ambiguity and change with a passion for continuous learning.

Preferred skills

• Familiarity with the travel sector (particularly luxury and boutique hotels and their unique needs) and/or the B2B sector.

• Familiarity with agile practices and/or design thinking and/or data analysis.
