NB City 157 Sturt Street Adelaide SA 5000 SA AU

NB City

Adelaide, Australia

Overview

Welcome, although they'll have to bed down in the living room and space for playing outdoors is fairly limited.

Best for

Kids aged three to around 16.

Recommended rooms

Kids can bed down on a fold-out couch in the living room.

Activities

If it’s a hot Adelaide day, the kids will enjoy a splash around on Captain Jolley’s Paddle Boats (+61 (0)8 8223 5863) down on the River Torrens behind the Adelaide Festival Centre on King William Road. On Sundays afternoons along North Terrace (a 15-minute walk from NB City), the City Council runs Sunday Fundays (+61 0(8) 8207 7575; www.adelaidecitycouncil.com). Highlights include clowns, workshops and buskers. For indoor swimming, make for the Adelaide Aquatic Centre (+61 (0)8 8203 7665; www.cityofadelaide.com.au/recreation/aquatic-centre.html), on Jeffcott Road in North Adelaide.

Swimming pool

There’s no pool, but for a dip in the ocean jump on the Glenelg Tram and head down to the beach.

Meals

You’ll need to prepare your own kids’ meals at this self-catering accommodation.

No need to pack

A fold-out couch in the living room is provided. If you’re travelling with infants you’ll need to bring your own cot.

Also

There’s not much outdoor space at NB City (two little courtyards), so if the kids are desperate to run around, take them down the road to grassy Whitmore Square, one of downtown Adelaide’s five formal squares.
