Within easy reach of the Great Ocean Road's stunning Shipwreck Coast, stylish self-catering stay Anchors is the perfect place to get stranded. With neighbouring cattle farms and the sleepy fishing town of Port Campbell just two kilometres away, Anchors takes surf 'n' turf to new heights. Three airy, open-plan villas capitalise on breath-snatching views of paddocks and craggy limestone cliffs. Luxe touches include king-size beds with Egyptian cotton sheets, a fireplace, spa bath and sleek kitchen, which, given Anchors' proximity to the region's gourmet trail, is sure to get a workout.

  • Booking process Full pre-payment is required for one-night stays; a 50 per cent deposit for longer stays. During peak season, cancellations must be made at least 30 days in advance; during low season, seven days' notice must be given. Guests need to contact Anchors prior to arrival for key collection details. After-hours key collection can be arranged.
  • Also Smoking isn't allowed inside the villas, and leave your pooch at home as Anchors is a pet-free zone. Only children under two are welcome, and a portable cot and highchair can be arranged at no cost.

Floor plan

  • These open-plan villas have been designed with the environment and the countryside vistas in mind. A calming, neutral colour palette is offset by bold splashes of colour.

  • Bedrooms

    An elevated platform houses the king-size bed, with a sunlit skylight above and views of lush neighbouring paddocks. Two simple side tables flank the bed, and there's a built-in wardrobe filled with DVDs, games and books. From this lofty spot, you can watch the TV in the living area and soak up the warmth of the fire. Villa Two also has a sofa bed in the living area, which can sleep two for AU$30 a person a night.

  • Kitchen

    There's a fully-equipped kitchen in each villa, complete with a double hotplate, microwave, dishwasher and coffee machine. The cupboards are loaded with crockery, cutlery and pantry basics, such as salt, pepper, coffee, tea and sugar.

  • Living room

    Each bright and airy living area boasts a black leather sofa, coffee table, wood-burning fire, LCD TV, DVD and VCR player. Full-length windows take in the tranquil farmland views.

  • Dining room

    By the window in the living room, there's a modern glass dining table with two black leather chairs.

  • Other

    The bathroom has a spa bath with separate shower, streamlined fittings, heated slate floor tiles, a contemporary charcoal and white colour scheme, and private garden vistas. Bring a travel candle for a romantic soak.

  • Gardens

    Manicured lawns surrounding the villas give way to native gardens and verdant farmlands dotted with grazing cattle.

  • Private parking

    Each villa has space to park one car.

  • Other

    A small patio offers a table and chairs for two, making it an ideal spot to enjoy a morning latte or sunset glass of wine. The electric barbecue is perfect for relaxed summer dinners.
