We couldn't have wished for a more lovely stay. A warm welcome, great hospitality and amazing breakfasts brought to our room, which we ate on the balcony in the sunshine, looking out to sea, The rooms were spacious and felt like the balance between plush, romantic and stylish was just right. I stayed with my partner for my birthday and couldn't have wished for a more perfect venue both in Salt House and St Ives itself. Pulling back the curtains in the morning to reveal glorious sunshine and a sea view for miles (through the floor-to-ceiling glass windows) we felt very smug indeed, and the day just got better!

A lovely walk along the coastal path (not a walk for smart shoes or heels, and the walk back is quite a steep one) for just over 10 minutes takes you to Porthminster beach (the Porthminster Cafe is a must!) Walk a further 10 minutes and you are in St Ives. Onshore restaurant was also very good and accommodating with nice views of the harbour. The room and the setting were such that we happily spent time one late afternoon just relaxing in the room and on the balcony with a glass of wine looking out to sea. I've stayed in some pretty impressive hotels in various parts of the world but I have to admit The Salthouse is my favorite accommodation so far. Alan and Sharon have got this little gem just right. We are very much hoping to go back next year. I personally can't wait!
