We heartily recommend Osteria Chichibio (+39 0804 240 488) at 12 largo Gelso in Polignano al Mare for fantastic fish (monkfish, lobster) and seafood (scampi, prawns). Also Osteria Piazzetta Cattedrale (+39 0831 335 026) in Ostuni right by the cathedral at 7 via Arcidiacono Trinchera. It's a tiny restaurant signed up to the Slow Food philosophy, and the commmitment and passion of the chef and her husband comes through in the melt-in-the-mouth delicious food. Very small, though, so be sure to book ahead. Take a drive to Martina Franca, a perfect little baroque town, and have a cappucino and a crema amarena pastry at Caffe Tripoli in Piazza Plebiscito opposite the Post Office. Alberobello? Very commercial, with shopkeepers importing you to enter their trulli. Visit briefly!
