The service — we managed to get lost late at night and Sylvia came and rescued us! Beautiful old building lovingly restored with a very modern interior. Excellent dinners with estate wine on the terrace watching the sun set. The kettle in the bedroom is a bonus for tea drinkers — although Nescafe was a bit of a surprise in Italy!

A wider range of food at breakfast — fruit salad or croissants would be good. Dinner is a set menu — it would be helpful to see this in the morning, just in case there is something not to your taste.

A visit to Orvieto is highly recommended.

It's lovely here. The building is wonderfully restored and the owners are very helpful. The food is wonderful. Would be great in summer with the big pool.

The place is an amazing hideaway in the middle of the Italian vineyards. The host is very nice and the architecture inside the main entrance stunning. The place has been refurbished in the original Pilgrim style and is really impressive. Our Cardinal Suite was amazing:  split level and wonderful views to three out of four different sides. Our favourite was the one towards Orvieto up on a hill, as if carved out of volcanic stone. It would have been amazing if there was a view from the bedroom but the ones on the below level just take your breath away. We had dinner on our arrival night and it was absolutely fantastic. The combinations the chef was coming up with, supplemented by the home-produced wine, were just to die for. Very romantic setting overall and will definitely want to come back.
