The sandy shores of West Portholland beach are 10 minutes walk from the house. Carne beach is a 15-minute drive away and Portscatho beach is approximately 20 minutes by car.

Best walks

The 45-minute walk along the cliffs to the Lugger Hotel at Portloe.

Shopping

The award-winning Lobbs Farm Shop is a 15-minute drive from the house and sells everything from Cornish comb honey to a brace of pheasants. There is a Jet Garage five minutes’ drive away, and Truro, a pretty market town with many high street and independent shops, is 20 minutes from Parc Vean.

Activities

There are great beaches for surfing or kite-flying in the area, or travel a bit further to St Ives for the Tate Gallery. And of course, the Eden Project is unmissable.
