‘A week of uninterrupted sunshine, a little wind, some great waves and net fishing on the most beautiful of beaches. The children adored the pool and spa and the adults were won over by the night breeze, hammock and overall compulsion to switch off and forget all routines. We’ll be back, same time next year.’

Smith tip

How to open a coconut:
Use one of the dozens of coconuts strewn across the lawn in front of the house as a guinea pig. Pull off the strands of outer husk, and remember to hold the coconut over a bowl if you want to catch the delicious water inside. Locate the three holes, known as the eyes, at the top of the fruit and with them pointing sideways, wallop the coconut across the ridge with the back of a meat cleaver and it should split in half.

The house is surrounded by tropical foliage and towering coconut palms, and forms part of a smart residential block which fronts directly onto Newell Beach.

Eating and drinking

The open-plan living area has a dining table which seats eight, as well as a four-seater breakfast bar. Glass doors open onto a large deck with another dining table overlooking the pool. A further deck above this also has a table and provides shade; the perfect spot for lunch. In-house catering can be provided, should you so desire.

Housekeeping

A complimentary cleaning service is provided for stays of eight days or more. More frequent cleans can be arranged with an additional charge.

Entertainment

The house has a surround sound system and media room complete with widescreen plasma TV and DVD/CD player.

Provided

Books (including recipe books), CDs, DVDs, board games, WiFi, fishing equipment, bed linen and beach towels. Champagne and an exotic fruit basket will be waiting for you on arrival. Spa treatments, yoga, car hire and day trips can be arranged.
