What I liked
Beautifully designed hotel! Cool, white, art displayed in eye catching areas around the hotel. High standards of service, especially in the restaurant - for breakfast and dinner. We enjoyed one of the best vegetarian 'taster' menus that we have had in such surroundings. Spectacular view of the coastline and nearby Positano. We enjoyed the shuttle service to the town- to spend a day at the beach at Positano and also, on another day, to catch the ferry to Capri (only 40 minutes away).
What could be better
Some people had breakfast included whilst somehow the option from booking with Mr & Mrs Smith did not. Caused some embarrassing moments. There is nowhere else you will be going for breakfast nearby so this is really a silly situation. When you added up cost of juice, coffee, and bread....it almost comes to the full buffet price. Water (basic kind) should be free! Paying €6 generally and €9 at dinner (they do have an extensive water carte) is crazy. I know we can afford this but this feels like we are being treated as gullible. Why do this to cause a frequent momentary disenchantment with such a beautiful place? We drank lots of other drinks so they can make their mark up there. We're staying now at the Grand Hotel Conventina, Amalfi where at least they only charge €4 for basic water! Sorry if this sounds petty but I think when everything else is well done, it takes it from being perfect.

The ferry trip to Capri.....a must! Also to have two espressos and a bottle of water at the local cafe Paiano (with a great view) for €3 only.....keeps your feet grounded in the region of extortional cost!

What I liked
The setting and views are absolutely incredible! It is only a short drive (20 minutes) away from the noisy and busy town of Positano and therefore gives you the best of both worlds. It is also no more than 45 minutes away from Amalfi. They have a free shuttle to and from Positano. The staff are very attentive and accommodating to any wishes. Great restaurant and bar, and great views from both. The rooms are also spacious and fully equipped.
What could be better
We paid for the second-most expensive room in the hotel and were very dissapointed with the size of the bathroom. For the size of the room, the bathroom was really made for one! For us Americans who like to shower, the facility was at best adequate and it took us a number of tries to figure out a way to keep the water away from spraying all over the tiny bathroom floor.
Local recommendations
Highly recommend Chez Black Restaurant on the beach in Positano and Da Gemma restaurant in Amalfi.

What I liked
This hotel is heavenly – it was perfect in terms of decor, service and food. The views are utterly exquisite. The beach at the bottom of the hotel has the most helpful guy running it and the sea is crystal clear. Delicious salads. Honestly it was fantastic.
What could be better
I think the water list with some at €130 in the restaurant is a bit of a joke, and it's so dark at night you could easily make a mistake. So this was a bit much. Also, our driver to the airport was so fast I had to close my eyes at some points!
Local recommendations
Take the boat trip to Capri, swim in the sea, say hello to Piccoletto on the beach and have the delicious fire salad. Order nothing else as they bring loads of bread. Instead, drink an Aperol Spritz and just gaze at the view.

A really pretty and inspired hotel. The pool sunbathing area is lovely, and the staff are very attentive and polite. It’s located close to Pollensa old town, which is worth a trip. Il Giardino in the square is a lovely restaurant. The square does attract a lot of new parents with babies and pushchairs, which can detract from the ambiance – but it's nothing another glass of Ribera del Duero can’t fix.

One can also hop on to the SITA bus and go to Positano for dinner - try Cambusso near the beach for fresh fish (ask to look, evaluate the options and then order the way you want it!) and Caffe Positano high up the Via Pasitea (next to the often recommended but crowded Da Vincenzo) which has splendid views from the outdoor terrace tables and has a very correct spaghetti alle vongole & entrecote alla griglia.
One has to absolutely visit Villa Cimbrone gardens for the infinity view in Ravello and take up the offer of a 10 % discount on the restaurant (on the tickets to visit the place) - Go for lunch - the food though slightly pricey keeping with the hotel on the premises, is a gastronomic delight!

Casa Angelina was everything it promised on the website and more. I normally opt for a more 'traditional' type of hotel but the contemporary style and cool white decor was beautiful. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and the location and views from the room were simply stunning. In fact, we loved it so much so that we are actually getting married there in July next year. We are being ably assisted in the organisation of the ceremony and accommodation by Casa Angelina and are really looking forward to what I am sure will prove an out-of-the-ordinary and extremely romantic day. In terms of recommendations: Vivaro in Praiano was a lovely little wine bar and we enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and tasty simple fare very much. In Positano Ristorante Max was excellent and Music on the Rocks was a fun evening out. The Casa Angelina restaurant, Un Piano nel Cielo was also notable and the view from the terrace added to the whole thing. Ravello is NOT to be missed and outside at Villa Maria was lovely with spectacular views.

We ate at restaurant called Il Pino which is a 200m walk from the Hotel, the food and service was excellent, better than many London Michelin starred restaurants and the price was very reasonable, approx 100 euro for two with a bottle of wine.

Dinner on the terrace at Il San Pietro is a must for some classic Italian glamour. Try to get there a little earlier for drinks on the terrace overlooking Positano – views are fantastic and service is very elegant.

We loved the food in La Brace, at Via Gennaro Capriglione (+39 089 874226), the praiano pasta was delicious. Service was friendly and there was a lovely bustling atmosphere in the restaurant. Food and wine were reasonably priced. La Gavitella, at Via Gavitella (+39 089 8131319), also serves great lunch out on the terrace overlooking the beach. If you stay at Casa Angelina the restaurant provides sunloungers and towels on the beach for free.

You must try the restaurant oppposite the hotel – can't remember the name – ask reception to book you a table as it can get quite busy. Ask for a table on the verandah so you can enjoy views overlooking the Amalfi coastline – at night the lights around the coast twinkle, making your evening even more romantic! Traditional Italian food, great pizza!
