Casa Tua's excellent restaurant serves classic Italian and Mediterranean food – chef Sergio Sigala's speciality is risotto, and there's a well-matched list of fine wines. Quattro Gastronomia Italia (+1 305 531 4833) on Lincoln Road is a more modern Italian treasure, with eye-popping Milanese decor. If the weather's good, try to get a table in the romantic garden. Bond St (+1 305 398 1806) at the hip Townhouse hotel on Collins prepares excellent sushi and Bloody Marys carefully crafted with sake. Just across the road is The Setai hotel (+1 305 520 6000), the height of South Beach opulence and excess; its restaurant show kitchen produces excellent Thai, Chinese and Indian dishes. Nobu (+1 305 695 3100) at the Shore Club serves unparalleled Asian cusine; the rock shrimp tempura is a signature dish. Also at the Shore Club, Ago (+1 305 695 3226) is a well-regarded Italian restaurant owned by Robert de Niro; get a table outside.

Worth getting out of bed for

The Delano's spa, Agua, is a real treat – just lounging on its rooftop terrace is a treat. if you can't be bothered to shlepp up there, in-room spa treatments can be arranged too. For the body beautiful (or those who like water sports), there's a variety of in-sea activity on offer at the Delano beach.
