In the know
- Our favourite rooms
- The three rooms in the main millhouse are large and airy, with original exposed beams, dinner-plate size shower heads and specially commissioned double-ended stone baths big enough for a crowd – definitely worth, ahem, splashing out on. The tubs in the Mill Room and Mill Room East even have views of the Mill pond through picture windows; the Mill Room's bath is in the bedroom. Mill Stream and Water Meadow rooms on the ground floor have small terraces. Suites are equally decadent, with balconies, oversized sofas, his 'n' hers sinks and modern fireplaces.
- Packing tips
- Indigestion tablets: you won't be able to stop eating the chef's delightul (and generously portioned) food, especially since it's everywhere you look (home-made biscuits in your room; jars of preserve at reception).
- Also
- Praise be: bathroom toiletries are courtesy of Jo Malone, and they're a decent size, too.
Current offers
- Smith card offer
- A Mill Bag (a small gift from the kitchen to take home); members staying three nights or more will also be taken for a private visit to the Denham Estate or a local horseracing yard

Food & drink
- Hotel restaurant
- Gordon McNeill's tantalising Modern European fare, made with fresh local produce and tinged with a hint of his native Scotland, is served up against a backdrop of sleek Italian tables and oak beams. Don't miss the awesome assiette of puddings…
- Dress code
- Relaxed. A chic and unstructured shift dress (suitable for disguising a greedily stuffed belly) should strike the right sartorial note. Mr Smiths might want to go for a forgiving polo shirt.
- Top table
- Alfresco, by the pond; upstairs in the restaurant at a window seat with upstream views; or at the raised and curtained off 'Jockey's table'. Mind your head though! There are two private dining rooms, too; we like the Terrace Room (it has a balcony).
- Last orders

- Room service
- 24 hours – choose from the restaurant menu when the kitchen is open, otherwise there's a menu of light snacks and drinks available round the clock.
- Hotel bar
- Spectacularly adorned by the beautifully uplit original mill wheel is the Mill's intimate, relaxed lounge bar. Beyond that is a glass walkway across the stream that takes you to the restaurant.
Also worth knowing
- Children
- Welcome. Extra beds or cots can be provided in rooms, £30 a night. Tuddenham Mill has a children's menu, and is more than happy to adapt anything from the main menu (half portions, no sauce…). High chairs, paper, pencils and crayons always to hand. More…
