We had a fabulous night at the Tigerlily but for lunch, we nipped next door (literally) to Browns for a quick lunch. What a great place for an informal but quality meal. great choice, great prices and a decent wine list.
Head over to the Scotsman Hotel and unwind in their spa. Take a swim in the stainless steel pool or for an indulgent treat book one of the many Cowshed spa treatments. Highly recommend the cocoon wrap!
The Witchery by the castle is a must-eat when in Edinburgh. From the atmospheric surroundings, to the fabulous views we had a perfect evening. The venison was among the best I've ever tasted. Keep your eyes peeled for roaming ghosts in this most historic of dining destinations!
A fantastic place and a truly wonderful experience. This is a lovely hotel with great staff. Do something different and try out the Edinburgh School of Food and Wine (+44 (0)131 333 5001) at Newliston. I did the one-day Indian cookery course and thoroughly enjoyed it. Well worth it, and very enjoyable. The School is only 25 minutes by bus, or quicker by car!
Number One Restaurant: just wanted to say how good we thought the food wine, and staff were. It made a great anniversary meal. We eat out a lot in London, and the staff were very attentive and made us feel very special, the food and wine choices were excellent. We will go back when we are next in Edinburgh.
Petit Paris on Grassmarket is fabulous for a lazy lunch. The interior is charming and just the right side of 'French-themed'. Really hearty but simple and great tasting food and at a reasonable price. Highly recommended.
