The hotel was everything and more that we hoped for, perfect for a weekend city getaway. The Prince was in a good location and it was easy to negotiate around on the tram or walk, which we did lots of. Circa for breakfast as part of the daily rate was an unexpected bonus. We also had dinner at Circa and it was one of the best meals we have experienced in a long time (that is from two foodies who eat out a lot). The staff were well-informed about the food and wine and it showed in the level of service. We also ate at Golden Fields (www.goldenfields.com.au/home/), another wonderful food experince. Pre-dinner drinks at the Little Press (www.thepressclub.com.au/) were also a hit. The only negative being that there was just not enough time to get through all the great places on our list.

You can catch the tram right outside the hotel's door into the city. Stoke House restaurant, within walking distance on the water, is great (30 Jacka Boulevard; +61 (0)3 9525 5555). The sea spa on the bay is an excellent way to relax.
