Style Chic contemporary villas

Setting Hepburn’s heavenly hillside

Sensationally soothing spa town Hepburn has been an Aussie favourite for over 115 years, so it’s time you got in on the action. Hepburn at Hepburn offers 14 sleek one-bedroom villas, with luxuriously modern interiors by David Hicks. Half are decked in sultry burgundy with velvet fabrics and dark glossy furniture, the others offer fresher green and natural tones. Once here either kick back in your fully functioning cube of fun or roll just two minutes down the road to the swanky Hepburn Bathhouse & Spa. This hillside haven works wonders for true romance or just relaxing with pals.

Floor plan

  • Bedrooms

Each of the 14 luxury villas features one bedroom, with a generous king-size bed (which can be converted to twin beds), overlooking a glass-encased ensuite bathroom with a mirrored wall. Contemporary interiors are by Australian design star David Hicks and boast white-panelled walls and colour palettes in a choice of dramatic and warm (including dark timber, black marble and splashes of red) or fresh and invigorating (with lighter oak, green, white and silver decor). Custom-made furnishings such as bespoke cupboards rule and there are TVs in both the bedroom and living room. Bathrooms offer marble-clad spas and freestanding rain showers, with built-in speakers so you can watch a movie or play music throughout.

  • Kitchen Each cabin comes with an open-plan kitchen living the living/dining area, with a marble or travertine stone bench and Miele appliances. Practical kit such as dishwashers and fridges are concealed for a fuss-free finish.
  • Living room The spacious living area features designer furniture selected by David Hicks, including custom-made sofas, bamboo armchairs and fleecy rugs. Cosy remote-controlled gas fireplaces keep things toasty in winter.
  • Dining room Blended with the open-plan living room, the dining area sports a small circular table for two, with two chairs should you want to eat in.
  • Poolside There's no pool but the aquatically-endowed spas of Hepburn beckon just down the road.
  • Gardens Nestled in atmospheric bush, all villas have a private ground-level mini balcony/terrace overlooking the surrounding trees and shrubbery, but there aren't gardens to speak of.
  • Private parking Each villa comes with one parking space.

In the know

Eating and drinking

Each and every villa is kitted out with a sleek Miele oven and hotplate, plus a kettle of course and plenty of cutlery and crockery to suit any meal for two. However, since you’ll possibly be here to visit one of the surrounding spas, the bar fridge is also ideal for storing your capsules of wheatgrass juice, if that’s your thing. Otherwise champers and chocs fit snuggly in there too.

Housekeeping

Cleaning is organised at the end of each stay, but can be more frequent if you're booking for longer than three days.

Entertainment

All villas boast a 42-inch built-in flatscreen TV in the living room (including Foxtel/Austar channels and DVD player), plus the ever-essential iPod dock with ceiling speakers. If you’re keen to get cosy, all bedrooms also have a freestanding TV/DVD player.

Provided

Everything is here that you might need for a sneaky weekend away with a partner in crime, from bedding and toiletries to a selection of local treats.

Packing tips

We're super-enthusiastic about purchasing vintage and antique finds from the tempting markets and junk shops in Daylesford, so we suggest packing a small cargo van. Alternatively, bring bathers for the spas and walking shoes.
