The Villa By Barton G

Miami, United States

Style Versace fantasy villa

Setting Art Deco Ocean Drive

You’ll feel like fashion royalty at The Villa by Barton G hotel, a Mediterranean-tinged luxury retreat in Miami Beach with dedicated butler service and a fine-dining restaurant. Event impresario Barton G Weiss lavished $1m on Versace’s former mansion, transforming it into a private palace right on South Beach. Palladian-style gilding, gargantuan custom-made beds, hand-painted trompe l’oeil, heavy tasseled fabrics, opulent marble bathrooms – more is definitely more at this exclusive Florida enclave.

Food and drink at The Villa By Barton G

In the know

Our favourite rooms

We love the Venus Suite for pure romance. Closer to an apartment, Donatella’s former boudoir even has two balconies: one overlooking Ocean Drive, the other the mansion’s Thousand Mosaic Pool. The pretty blue-and-white Azure Suite is less grand but still heart-stirringly sweet and equally perfect for hosting spontaneous proposals or unforgettable honeymoons.

Packing tips

Designer swimwear and sunglasses, naturally. And a bulging wallet.

Also

Afternoon tea served on the terrace for guests on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays is unmissable.
