Dan Vernon
Bafta bagger
As a film-maker, Daniel spends his time tracking down characters in far-flung destinations: from the freezing darkness of the Arctic to the howling moors of Bodmin and the arid Arizona desert, he has stayed in his fair share of hovels, and knows luxury when he sees it. The holder of a BA (Hons) degree in Three-Dimensional Design, he’s also stayed in an extensive array of B&Bs all over the UK and Ireland, but so far nowhere beats his Michelin-starred-chef-equipped honeymoon hideaway in Madagascar.
