Luxury holidays in Ehrwald

At the base of the Zugspitze mountain in Austria’s Tyrol, you’ll find Ehrwald, an all-season alpine escape carved by glaciers and etched with rivers and trails. Winter brings skiing, sleigh rides, tobogganing and ice skating. Come summer, switch to hiking, biking, golfing, and lake lounging. Plentiful dining pitstops — at any time of year — are best served with a side of mountain scenery.

When to go

Snow bunnies can find fresh tracks from January through March; for warmer climes and valleys dressed in their verdant best, visit from May to August.

Getting there

  • Planes

Innsbruck Airport is your closest airport, a one-hour drive away, whilst Munich is 90 minutes by road from Ehrwald.
  • Trains

Ehrwald is served by rail routes from Innsbruck and Garmisch-Partenkirchen in Germany, with onward connections to Munich and other Continental cities.
  • Automobiles

A set of wheels is a good idea if you want to explore the surrounding area, however, there are public transport links, which tend to be more frequent during the winter months.
