Ca's Xorc

Wow factor   The beautiful gardens have far-reaching views across the mountains to the sea.

Need to know   A priest can be arranged for a blessing, but the hotel is not licensed for actual ceremonies. Pay bars are not allowed during a wedding party; the bill has to be settled by one individual only. The hotel accommodates up to 26 adults, and all rooms must be booked for a minimum of two nights by the wedding party. Musician Caroline Corr got married here.

Inspiration   Ca's Xorc has hosted weddings since 2001, with more than a dozen ceremonies set against its beautiful backdrop each year since then. Each wedding is individually tailored and taken care of with extra special care.

L'Avenida

Mallorca, Balearic Islands, Spain

Wow factor   The beautiful town of Sóller in the Tramuntana mountains sets the perfect scene for an intimate and informal celebration.

Need to know   L’Avenida can arrange a ceremony in a local church (and a priest to conduct it), as well as tapas and cava for the reception and even the symbolic release of doves if you’d like your nuptials to end on an ornithological flourish. The hotel’s closed over winter, but in other seasons you can make use of the stylish dining area (capacity: 30) if the weather is inclement.

Inspiration   Bride and bridesmaids can enjoy spa and massage treatments at the hotel, and golfing trips can also be organised for guests.

Hotel Habita

Mexico City, Mexico

Wow factor   Skyline views of Mexico City from the bar terrace.

Need to know   Hotel Habita can accommodate up to 72 guests and cater to weddings at any time of year, with a huge space for a reception overlooking the pool on the roof. Staff can help with arrangements for flowers, decorations, entertainment and food. Legal unions must be presided over by a Mexican judge.

Inspiration   Melt away pre-nuptial jitters at the expert hands of the Habita spa’s masseuses.

Condesa DF

Mexico City, Mexico

Wow factor   With views stretching over the treetops of the park across the cityscape, the hotel’s rooftop terrace is one of the most scenic spots in Mexico City.

Need to know   Condesa DF can help arrange decoration, photographers, entertainment, etc, upon request. If you want to hold your celebrations outside on the terrace, book in the spring or autumn months, when the climate’s most accommodating.

Inspiration   The hotels downstairs bar comes complete with a full-size dance floor, and the rooftop spa can help smooth any prenuptial jitters.

The Tides South Beach

Miami, United States

Wow factor   Stun your guests with 360º views of South Beach from the 10th-floor rooftop terrace, or have the pool covered with Plexiglass to create a stunning outdoor ballroom.

Need to know   The Tides can hold a sit-down dinner or rooftop-terrace reception for up to 60 people, and staff can arrange flowers, photography, cake, DJs, transport and, of course, accommodation. Weather can be both overbearingly hot and unpredictable between June and November, so we’d recommend taking the celebration indoors if you book your wedding then.

Inspiration   Let the hotel coordinate an eco-friendly wedding for you, with a bespoke hemp dress, organic menu and cake, bamboo furniture and a host of other green touches.

The Chedi Milan

Wow factor   If it's contemporary chic you're after, you'd be hard pushed to find a more soothing backdrop to your nuptials – think sleek lilies, great architectural lines and a neutral colour scheme that lends itself well to complementing the bridal party. The Chedi Milan also has the advantage of scale – perfect for those blessed with enormous Italian-style families!

Need to know   The chef can work out a special menu for your guests, and the Chedi's dedicated Events Team will help with any detail of your wedding arrangements, from photography and flowers to entertainment and the wedding breakfast.

Inspiration   Draw on the chef's Oriental repertoire and have a gourmet wedding banquet with a Thai-style twist.

Cotton House

Mustique, Caribbean

Wow factor   The air of decadent luxury on a perfect private island will make your matrimony more than memorable.

Need to know   Choose between the verdant setting of the Cotton House's 13 acres of manicured tropical gardens or a sun-kissed ceremony on the white-sand beach. Staff are happy to arrange decor according to your tastes and can put together an appropriate soundtrack on request. The hotel can host weddings with up to 36 adult guests and 12 children.
