Getting there
Viceroy Bali is five minutes' drive east of the small inland town of Ubud, Bali's cultural heart, located near the village of Nagi on the slopes of the Petanu River valley.
- Planes Fly into Bali's Ngurah Rai International Airport (www.baliairport.com), just south of capital Denpasar.
- Trains Train travel isn't an option on the island of Bali.
- Automobiles From the airport it's a 40-kilometre drive north-east to Viceroy Bali near Ubud. The hotel can organise transfers for US$40 a person each way, and offers free parking, although we recommend being chauffeured unless you're an old Bali hand as roads can be hairy.
- Others If you'd rather commandeer a copter, the hotel has its own helipad. The flight from the airport takes 12 minutes, and is available from 6am–1pm, carrying four people max.
