The Louise

Barossa Valley, Australia

Number of people: 2-16

Wow factor

What do you get when you team an intimate 15-suite luxury vineyard retreat with one of Australia's best regional restaurants Appellation? A wedding to remember (so long as you can dodge the hangover). Rooms here are all about stylish privacy, with your own personal courtyard, sunset-lapped terrace, sexy spa tubs and even secluded outdoor showers (don't worry, there are double ones indoors too if you prefer). The renowned restaurant is another huge draw, regarded as the Barossa Valley's finest dining experience with a wine list to match.

Need to know

The Louise isn’t available as a traditional wedding or function venue, but the owners have no objections to guests getting married on their private terraces with a celebrant, or to wedding parties staying at the property for honeymoons, meals or pre-wedding primpings and preenings. The hotel can accommodate a maximum of 32 guests overnight, and the restaurant offers a private dining room for wedding or pre-wedding meals for groups of up to 16 (or you can hire the whole restaurant exclusively, and enjoy its 48 seats all to yourself, provided you've booked out the whole hotel too). Alternatively, team a mouth-watering meal or luxurious stay here with a wedding ceremony at one of the Barossa's many pretty churches, vineyards, wineries or garden sites nearby. It also makes a great spot for your wedding night or honeymoon, even if you've actually tied the knot beyond the Barossa's rolling hills. The Louise can help hook you up with florists, hairdressers, make-up artists, marriage celebrants and wedding venues in the area.

Inspiration

Beautiful views over the Barossa Valley enhance the romance, with verdant, gently sloping vineyards surrounding the hotel.
