What I liked
Beautiful decor, fantastically friendly and helpful staff, fabulous room (the penthouse suite), very comfortable bed, perfect location, so much charm, and really quiet too, despite being so well placed. We LOVED it. Top marks. Fantastic value too. One of those rare hotels with class that don't charge extra for WiFi. And the breakfast (delicious) is included too, which seems to also be rare even when you pay through the nose. You may not always choose to eat in the hotel for breakfast, but it's great to not have to wander too far for morning sustenance and not pay extortionate rates.
What could be better
Nothing for us, but the penthouse especially is not one for children, or anyone elderly or disabled, as there is no lift because it's a beautiful, renovated old building.
Local recommendations
The Museum of Innocence (+00 9021 2252 9738) on Bina Street. Brilliant, and a stone's throw from the hotel.

Could not recommend this hotel highly enough. The staff were so helpful and went beyond the call of duty to ensure that our stay was just wonderful (they made a mean menemen for breakfast too). Our room at the front of the hotel was very large, light and sunny, and the area was perfect for exploring. Such a great city – we will def be back to visit and will stay here again, without doubt.

Super. Staff went out of their way to help, the rooms were gorgeous and the breakfast was lovely. Truly discreet. To help you and your taxi driver, yes, it is the building advertising itself as Apartments Lefkowitz. I've not eaten a bad meal in Istanbul although I don't recommend the Galatasaray Bridge fish restaurants. For a truly Turkish experience, ask about boza for dessert. It's a drink made from seeds and has a slight kick.
