The Church Street Townhouse
Stratford-upon-Avon, United Kingdom
Getting there
- Planes Birmingham international airport is only 24 miles away (about 40 minutes by car); the Church Street Townhouse can arrange a taxi pick-up if you need one.
- Trains Chiltern Railways trains run from London Marylebone to Stratford-upon-Avon every two hours, via Warwick and Leamington Spa; there are also services from Paddington. There are also regular services to/from Oxford and Birmingham. Stratford station is a 12-minute walk from the hotel (or, if your luggage is heavy, there's a taxi rank at the station). In summer, you can also arrive by steam: the Shakespeare Express takes a scenic 60 minutes to chuff its way into Stratford from Birmingham via Henley-in-Arden (www.vintagetrains.co.uk).
- Automobiles Stratford is an hour's drive from Birmingham city centre. For pick-ups and drop-offs there is on-street parking just outside (limited to maximum two-hour stays during the day). Otherwise, the hotel has an arrangement for reduced-rate overnight parking with a local NCP carpark just behind Church Street.
