Maddox Street is a relatively quiet side street where you can shelter from the chaotic pace of Oxford Street/Regent Street, but you are less than five minutes from both, so this is the perfect place to stay during a shopping frenzy as you can keep popping back to drop your shopping bags off before hitting the shops again.

If you are looking for a great restaurant and an 'oh-so-cool' but unpretentious bar then Hix on Brewer Street is your place. Just minutes away from No.5 it serves a fish- and seafood-focussed menu, while its downstairs watering hole, Mark's Bar, has the mix of comfortably chic just right.
