The Guestbook
We had a fantastic stay at No 12 and would recommend it to anyone. Possibly the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in! We would highly recommend eating at the new brasserie just around the corner called Seventeen Black. It's small, intimate, romantic and reasonably priced, with great food and service.

We had a lovely time staying at no.12, which is in a great location in the middle of Cirencester. We enjoyed excellent, relaxed service at no.12, and our room was perfect.
I would recommend lunch at the Bathurst Arms in nearby North Cerney.

After a frighteningly wholesome afternoon at Westonbirt Arboretum, taking in the glorious autumnal show nature had laid on (and hours of walking!) we headed back to No 12. A quick soak in the roll-top bath soothed our aching limbs, then we popped in for dinner just around the corner at Jesse's Bistro (+44 (0)1285 641497). Andrew the manager was friendly and informative and turned out to be the brother of the head chef at our local, they've got good food in their genes those Palfreys! Loin of venison, root veg puree washed down with a couple of bottles of red – delicious! We slouched home very satisfied, with pretty much every autumn-cliché box ticked.

There wasn't a lot going on in Cirencester on the Thursday night we stayed at No 12 but we had an excellent dinner at Jesse's Bistro which is just across the road from No 12.
It's based behind the butchers shop on Black Jack Street, so has a good selection of meat, as well as fresh fish. Friendly service and a good wine list too.

No 12 is a fabulous base for seeing the Cotswolds and Cirencester. Our host Sarah was fabulous at recommending places to eat and things to see. We were also (very helpfully) recommended a very pretty route home through Burford. It is this attention to detail that really made our weekend. A special mention must be made of Ozzie, the resident black labrador, who also made us feel incredibly welcome! Breakfast was superb, we would definitely stay again.
