For super cheap food, and an interesting look at Singapore's Chinese heritage, wander over to Chinatown. You can watch mahjong enthusiasts betting on games near the temple and there is a fun tintin shop close to Chinatown station with all things tintin related!

Junior suites are definitely that – very cool for a weekend jaunt but not recommended if you have any more luggage than a small bag. We stayed at the start of a two-month trip and had our nine-month old daughter. Cool room but very, very small and not enough room for us and our luggage!
