There is nothing I don't like about this hotel. I chose it because of your description on the website; the hotel was actually nicer than it appears in the photographs. Locanda al Colle is really special, not just for the environment and the decor but because of the service from Ricardo and Arianna – nothing was too much trouble. My trip was to celebrate a significant birthday with friends and on the Saturday night, my actual birthday, we ate in the hotel, and all the staff went out of their way to make it a memorable occasion.

Pisa airport – it took longer to pick up our hire car than it did to drive to the hotel! In fact, for a short trip you don't really need a car – you can eat lunch in the hotel, and twice a week they serve dinner, and there are good restaurants within walking distance. The town of Pietrasanta, with its many bars and restaurants, is only a short taxi journey away.

We followed Ricardo's restaurant recommendations and were not disappointed.

We loved it felt so at ease here, despite the comings and goings of many, it felt like we were staying with family. Dinner is a MUST here. Loved Pietrasanta and surrounding area. Beach club was well worth a visit.

On arrival, Riccardo asked if we would be having dinner that evening. We were very tired and said yes, not really knowing what to expect. We were so impressed with the food, atmosphere and hospitality we received that evening. I am so glad we did say yes, it was one of our favourite parts of our holiday. On our final evening, Riccardo arranged for us to eat dinner on the beach at the beach club Bagno Il Cavallone. We sat with our feet in the sand and ate a delicious fish menu as we watched the sunset, the most romantic thing we did on our honeymoon.
