The Guestbook

Whilst in Barbados, one trip we particularly enjoyed was visiting the Mount Gay rum factory in Bridgetown, approximately 30 minutes drive from Little Good Harbour. There's a bar with an extremely accomplished barman, who knocked together a couple of tasty rum cocktails with very generous measures of rum for us to drink, while we waited for the tour to start. And the highlight of the tour is a visit to the tasting room, where ample free samples of the different Mount Gay rums are offered to all visitors. Probably not a visit to do with the kids, but definitely worth it if you're on an adults-only trip.

Little Good Harbour's sister hotel, The Atlantis, is located on the windswept east coast of Barbados, and serves up one of the island's buzziest and most delicious Sunday brunches. Brunch takes the form of a buffet, with Caribbean classics as well as more traditional English fare. Fill up your plate and sit down to the most amazing views from the terrace. Be sure to book your table well in advance though, as the brunch is very popular, attended by Bajan families in their Sunday best and tourists alike. In a car from Little Good Harbour, the journey to The Atlantis takes little more than 20 minutes, through the most wonderful scenery. Take the road up through Cherry Tree Hill, and enjoy the most spectacular views of the east coast beaches on the way down the other side.

Don't aim for what you may think are the best tables in the Fish Pot restaurant (those outside, overlooking the sea). These get really hot and people who sit here don't last long! Trust the staff who will sit you in the best place to catch the breeze.
