Getting there
- Planes The closest airports are Perugia (90 minutes by car) and Florence (an hour and 45 minutes). Both have several car hire offices.
- Trains The nearest train station is Chiusi Scalo; there is a Europcar office near the train station. For information on train times and ticket prices, see Trenitalia (www.trenitalia.com). From here, it's a 40-minute drive to the hotel.
- Automobiles In the heart of southern Tuscany, just 10 minutes from the Unesco World Heritage village of Pienza, La Bandita is only 20 minutes off Italy’s main North-South motorway, the A1. From there, it's largely signposted – journeys end on a bumpy dirt road into the Tuscan countryside. Several other important towns on the Grand Tour trail are within easy driving distance: Montepulciano (25 minutes); Arezzo and Cortona (one hour); Perugia and Florence (an hour and a half); and Pisa (two and a half hours).
