The Guestbook
For those taking their Mrs, or Mr Smith, to Paris, this is an ideal hotel to start the adventure. Quietly tucked up a side street, but only a few hundred metres from the Trocadero, and with a Metro stop on the next street, it's a great bolthole to escape to after a day and evening of wandering the sights and sounds of the city. There were few raised eyebrows at the amusing menus available in the bedside drawers, but Paris is the city of love after all. Otherwise, the rooms were very comfortable, the baths were simply vast, and the staff were extremely attentive. Don't expect to hang out in the hotel bar as there isn't one really, but there are plenty of vibrant cafes and bars nearby. Staff recommendations for food were offered although we prefer just to wander and choose ourselves. If you want an evening that suits the style of the hotel, grab tickets to the Crazy Horse club on Avenue George V. Make sure you choose the champagne option to avoid eye-watering drinks prices, however it's a small venue so any ticket grade will do.

If you’re going to Paris and are into modern, fresh and stylish restaurants, I would definitely recommend Kong at Pont Neuf. There is a glass terrace on the top floor looking out over the city, and they have the most amazing club sandwich! Also restaurant CAB near the Louvre is a great trendy and high quality restaurant.

Firstly the help provided by Katie was amazing, she has the patience of a saint, and not only helped with the hotel but organised restaurants, Irish bar to watch the rugby, and was simply fantastic. Now to Hotel Sezz, great hotel staff, really wanting to make your stay a great success. Location was opposite the Eiffel Tower, so a little away from central tourist-y location but that was OK, as you need a break. Champagne bar a little let down so don't expect a rip roaring bar. Rooms were great, well finished and very quiet. Katie got us reservations at La Societe in Place St Germain, must go to. It was amazing, food exquisite, staff more than willing to help. People complain that they put the Brits and Americans together -- DON'T, it makes sense as the wait staff all spoke impeccable English and were more than happy for us to mangle the French language before making discrete recommendations. Frankly we closed the place at 1.10am with no attempts to get us out. Also, Le Relais d'Entrecote, a little secret off Ave Montaigne, is the steak bistro experience. No menu, only salad and steak, get there early as they queue into the street. Try also Carrette in Place de Vosges for a great hot chocolate. So thanks to Katie, Mr & Mrs Smith and the people of Paris for a fabulous romantic weekend.

I had wanted to stay here for a while having seen it on Mr & Mrs Smith. A stopover en-route to the Dordogne proved the perfect opportunity. We were warmly welcomed by Yannick who spoke perfect English and offered us a complimentary glass of champagne. We were then given a quick tour of the hotel and taken to our room (our drinks and bags were quickly bought up).
We stayed in a Junior Suite which was stylishly decorated and had a view of the Eiffel Tower from the bathroom. The small balcony had a nice view of the river and was bathed in the warm evening sunlight. We took a short walk across the lovely Pont de Bir-Hakeim and had a stroll along the Seine and around the Eiffel Tower before returning to the hotel. Yannick had politely enquired about our plans for the evening and had recommended a restaurant called Le Derrière (+33 (0)1 44 61 91 95) at 69 Rue des Gravilliers.
The hotel staff happily booked us a table (not an easy task if you look at the restaurant's reviews). Yannick was right to recommend Le Derrière as we had a fabulous meal in what was clearly a very cool place to be. They were even able to cater for my vegan wife which is unusual at such short notice in France.
Breakfast was a simple but tasty continental buffet and check-out was handled quickly and simply. I would highly recommend Hotel Sezz. It is in a nice quiet area but with good access to all the attractions with Passy Metro station being only a short walk. The staff were very helpful and clearly have a good knowledge of the city.

We would recommend the restaurant at Pershing Hall on rue Pierre Charron for great food in a stylish setting. For fab views over Pont Neuf we would recommend the Kong restaurant on rue du Pont Neuf. Make sure to ask for a table upstairs at the front of the restaurant.

Just behind the hotel, along Rue de Passy, is Marché de Passy, an amazing market full of fresh seafood (with a raw bar), amazing cheeses, charcuterie and freshly baked bread. We stopped by for a late brunch and had the very friendly fromageur slice a variety of cheeses for us, which we then stuffed into chunks of fresh, warm baguette and ate on the hoof whilst strolling along the rather posh Rue de Passy. Without a doubt, the best cheese sandwich we've ever had.

After six months away from home, spiriting Ms Smith away for a long weekend in Paris seemed the perfect surprise gift for us both, and with most Parisians still enjoying their August break, it was almost like having the city to ourselves. After a morning stroll up to the Palais de Challiot to show a Parisian virgin by far the best view of the Eiffel Tower in town we stumbled on the Aquarium de Trocadéro. It could only be the French who could successfully combine an aquarium, a cinema and movie memorabilia, built into a quarry. With couchettes, armchairs and beanbags on which to repose liberally scattered in front of huge tanks it is very easy to become entranced by the sealife for hours.
With an appetite well and truly built. we headed to La Table de Joël Robuchon a five-minute taxi from Hotel Sezz at 16 Avenue Bugeaud, 16ème. If you're in search of some of the finest foods and wine and impeccable service but in a more modern atmosphere than many of Paris' other Michelin-starred restaurants, then look no further. It was simply sublime. As for the rest of the weekend – well, I shall leave that to your imagination...

Hi Mr & Mrs Smith,
I'd like to share my experience of Paris with other members. First of all, I love surprising my girlfriend. So I suggested that we would go & visit friends in Warwick. But when we joined the motorway, I took the junction for the airport! My girlfriend was both confused & excited and asked where we were going; I replied Terminal 2. She asked about her passport & I assured her it was in the boot. At this stage, she was so excited I had to tell her we were off to Paris.
When we arrived, the Hotel Sezz staff were great. We were close to the River Seine & the Eiffel Tower, however we thought we'd dine somewhere a little quieter & less touristy. The receptionist asked the hotel chef, and he recommeneded a brasserie that local Parisians dined at: Le Tournesol, 2 Avenue de Lamballe in the 16th arrondissement (near Passy). The food was amazing; the service was excellent & the atmosphere was great. It was warm, so we sat outside. That evening, I felt that we experienced what Paris was all about: good food, good drink, great atmosphere & good times!! I'd recommend venturing away from touristy places & doing what the Parisians do…
