Akasaka at 9 rue Nicolo (+33 1 42 88 77 86) does some of the best Japanese in town. Astrance on Rue Beethoven (+33 1 40 50 84 40) is a gastronomical experience; book well in advance for refined modern French cuisine. One of France’s most prestigious restos, Pierre Gagnaire on Rue Balzac (+33 1 58 36 12 50) is a treat for truly fabulous food at hefty prices (starters from 100€). Carette on Place du Trocadéro (+33 1 47 27 88 56; www.carette-paris.com) is a Thirties-style tearoom in the shadow of the Eiffel Tower. Fantastic macaroons. La Cave de l'Os à Moëlle on Rue de Lourmel (+33 1 45 57 28 28) is a wonderfully traditional bistro serving simple, delicious dishes. L'AOC on 14 Rue Fosses Saint Bernard (+33 01 43 54 22 52) is another fabulous bistro specialising in succulent roast meats. The leg of lamb stuffed with garlic gratin dauphinois is particularly good.
