Forget the tourist trap boat trip to the volcano. Go on a snorkelling or diving trip with the scuba-diving company. They will take you out in a speedboat to areas where nobody else is around. You will get to see the same views as all those tourists swimming around in volcanic mud with each other – but you will be in a private boat.
