Escondrijo
Getting there
- Planes The nearest airport is Jerez de la Frontera Airport. From here, it’s an hour in the car to Escondrijo. Take a taxi from the airport, or hire a car from one of the airport’s four rental companies.
- Trains The nearest train stations are those in San Fernando, Cádiz and Algeciras, all Renfe-operated (www.renfe.es). San Fernando is about 20 minutes’ drive from the hotel, and it takes an hour to reach the others from Vejer.
- Automobiles A car will be useful to explore the magnificent surrounding countryside of the Cadiz Province; hire one at the airport. Vejer can be reached via the N340 coastal road, which runs between Cádiz and Algeciras; take exit 34 and follow the signs to the town. When you arrive in Vejer, head for the Plaza de Espana to park. Buses run every hour from Vejer to Cádiz and Barbate.
