The Guestbook
Quirky but lovely chateau in Normandy. Very friendly owners and good food. We hit nearly all of Mr & Mrs Smith's recommendations. Loved La Maison d'Horbee in nearby La Perriere (reminded me of a rustic version of the London bar Loungelover). In Saint Ceneri le Gerei, we loved L’Auberge des Peintres; great food in a very pretty village. Rive Droite was also surprisingly fantastic, given that Alencon is a very sleepy little town. We also checked out La Guil Home restaurant in Alencon; cheese is their speciality so everything comes with cheese. You will roll out but it was very yummy. An easy getaway for a few days from the UK.

I just wanted to say that Château de Saint Paterne was fantastic. The food was amazing. The owners are so welcoming and I definitely want to stay again.
