The Guestbook
It was amazing. The owners were spectacular, the property stunning and the food to die for. Would highly recommend to all. We wish we had stayed there longer.

Excellent spot. Fantastic hosts. Don't bother about going out to eat, Silvia is as good a cook as any in Sicily.

We had a lovely 10 day stay at this classy hotel. The service from the owners, Silvia and Guiseppe, was seamless - nothing was too much trouble. We ate in the hotel restaurant most nights as we couldn't bear to drag ourselves away from Silvia's wonderful cooking! When we did eat elsewhere they were more than happy to recommend local restaurants; we ate in La Madia (Licata) one night which has two well deserved Michelin stars, it was simply amazing.

If you get bored of lazing under the olive trees or by the pool ask Silvia about her cooking class. For €60 she'll let you in on a few family secrets while you cook that evening's dinner for fellow guests. Friends back home won't fail to be impressed – worth every penny!

What a wonderful place this is – lovely Sicilian family running it, with fabulous, fresh food cooked by hostess Silvia. We stayed in the Bianolilla suite, which is lovely as a room, but the suite area is next door. If you want to have an integrated, more romantic suite ask for another one! Besides chilling by the pool we visited Agrigento and Scala dei Turchi. The Valley of the Temples is a must see, and in summer they do evening openings, when the temples are beautifully lit. We had dinner at Villa Athena beforehand, with views of the Concordia temple, very beautiful!

This fabulous Italian family country house oozes style and sophistication. Booking late meant we were given the small room on the top floor of the house, but even this had its perks. It came complete with its own private terrace running the length of the house, where we showered outside every morning in the early sunlight overlooking the olive groves. Italian countryside doesn't come much better.

What a fabulous find. Eating under the stars and lazing around. Top tip is to spend the day on Guiseppe's speedboat - you won't be disappointed.

Not far from the the Mandranova, there is a stunning, bright white limestone beach called La Scala dei Turchi – definitely worth visiting. And if you head to Ragusa, go to Gelati Di Vini (+39 093 2228 989) at Piazza Duomo in the old town for some incredible ice cream.
