The Guestbook
Exactly the chill-out we needed. The food was fantastic, the Thai massage exactly what we needed, and the yoga restorative.

You have the hotel review covered – and other than saying that it really is a dream here, there is not much I can say with regards to local restaurants etc. We were there for a wedding (which was in a lovely villa down the road) so spent most of our time over there. There is a great little seafood restaurant that all the ushers went to for lunch, but we don't know the name. Only that it is not far from Aleenta, and is just down on the water, looking out to the bridge! It's definitely worth trying to find it! I'm sure there can't be too many and the lovely guy that picked us up from the airport (Aleenta staff) also recommended this place to us.

Aleenta is an absolute gem – we will DEFINITELY stay there again and have already recommended this place to everyone we know. Our Pool Villa, the food and service were absolutely outstanding! Breakfast is a must (even if you are on honeymoon!) all the food was so fresh and homemade and healthy – the hotel makes all its own bread and jams and yoghurt and granola, etc - it could not have been better. I couldn't recommend the Pool Villas highly enough – we didn't set foot near the reception desk until we dragged ourselves there to unwillingly check out, so I don't have any nearby restaurants to recommend as we didn't try any.
However, what we would highly recommend were two things at the hotel in particular, that I didn't read about:
1. Lounging on a chaise longue in front of the bar by the beach at about 5.30pm and be prepared to be amazed at the wondrous colours in the sky for over an hour as the sun sets – the best sunsets we have ever seen!
2. Having a private candlelit BBQ dinner on the beach in front of our Pool Villa – our own chef and waiting staff – the fire pits dug into the sand and the intoxicating ocean as the sun sets – one of the most memorable experiences of our lives and one that not many other guests experienced, but should be done!
The jacuzzi bath outside with a glass of champagne at sunset, the private infinity pool – I could go on... Just pure bliss – the honeymoon of our dreams...
Absolutely FABULOUS. Thank you so much

We didn't really leave the hotel much as it was so idyllic – one of the best parts being a private bbq on the beach. However, if you are interested in going on a trip, we loved going to see James Bond Island (where scenes from The Man with the Golden Gun are filmed), the scenery on the boat was stunning. We had to watch the movie as soon as we got home!
