Travel books have traditionally catered to either deodorant-challenged backpacker types or golf-bag-toting empty nesters, but a slick new class of guides is changing that. The latest and greatest is the delightfully dirty Mr. & Mrs. Smith series. Launched in Britain a couple of years ago and now available stateside from Rizzoli, the books are written by groovy incognito couples who road-test the important stuff, like whirlpool tub–equipped suites at the best hotels. They then report back on where to stay (and shop, and hit the town, and do other things couples do, especially those who register in hotels under the eponymous surname).
