This was our first weekend away as a couple since having our children, now four- and five-years, and was a brilliant combination of decadence and romance. Hotel room was gorgeous. Great mojitos in the hotel bar, then we ate at the Square, in Berkeley Square, and were in heaven with the seven-course tasting menu, with matched wines to each course. (My husband has a fish allergy and they were very happy to provide alternative dishes to any course with fish, and adjusted the wine to one appropriate for the substituted dish – excellent service.) The hotel brunch was perfect for setting us up for a beautiful day walking around Kensington Gardens.

We had a 'Wonderful' three-night stay at the Gore in a 'Wonderful Double' room...

If it's a sunny day, I thoroughly recommend you take a stroll (quite a long stroll) through Hyde Park, along the Serpentine, to Richoux on South Audley Street, Mayfair W1. They serve great brunches and delicious pastries. It's well worth the walk... If the weather's not so good, try the one on Brompton Road, opposite Harrods.
