We enjoyed a great holiday at Ichibi. Knysna is a fantastic harbour town about 35 minutes drive away – famous for its oysters and boasting some excellent restaurants. Take the Featherbed Company paddle steamer out from the lagoon towards the Knysna Heads, which protect the town from the treacherous ocean beyond. They serve drinks and tapas onboard. Another good trip is to the Botlierskop Game Reserve near Mossel Bay which boasts the chance to see the 'Big FIve' and enjoy fantastic mountainous scenery as you are driven around on safari.
Ask the owner for directions to secluded beaches – they can make you up a picnic with a beach bag (make sure you make use of the umbrella). Try 'The Girls' restuarant for some great food, or the Italian resturant opposite it. Lots of great wine and snacks available in the Ichibi bar.
