In the know

Our favourite rooms
Tarabel only has three – each one comprising beige tadelakt walls, wood-beamed ceilings and typically Moroccan furniture. Our top pick is the Palmeraie Suite, which can sleep up to four people and has grey patterned zellige tiles designed by the riad’s owner Rose-Marie and an inviting rattan day-bed. The most alluring feature, however, is the suite’s gargantuan bathroom, which sprawls over two levels with double sinks and mirrors in the upper section and a double walk-in shower and a bath tub (complete with fitted pillow) big enough for four on the level below. Of the other two rooms, L’Argane has a sumptuous four-poster, and Jasmine boasts a free-standing cast iron bath in a soothing bluey grey tone.
Packing tips
Tarabel staff provide guests with a mobile phone freshly juiced up with credit, so there’s never any need to worry about being incommunicado.
