This rustic retreat offers the unique opportunity to stay in genuine Malayan stilted wooden houses, most more than a century old, on a former coconut plantation. Surrounded by manicured greenery and centred on one of Langkawi’s most celebrated restaurants, Bon Ton Resort has long been an essential stop-off for the savvy traveller.

- The renowned restaurant, Nam, blends Eastern and Western cuisine with a dose of spice to create an imaginative and inventive gourmet menu. Plump for Nyonga, the signature platter, which features nine Malay and Chinese dishes served on banana leaf.
- Dress code
- Laid-back loungewear.
- Top table
- To secure a front row seat for the sunset, nab Table 1, 2 or L6 and watch water buffalo cooling off in the lagoon while you eat.
- Last orders
- Nam offers lunch until 5pm, mezze until 7pm and dinner until 11pm. Drinks are available until half past midnight.
- Room service
- The Nam menu is available in-room until 11pm.
- Hotel bar
- Chin Chin lounge bar is based beside Nam in a 60-year-old wooden Chinese shop house, filled with antiques and atmosphere. Liqueur-coffees and cocktails are specialities – grab a Short Island Iced Tea to enjoy on the sunset deck.
