In the know

Our favourite rooms
Lovingly decorated by the owner, every wonderful room has a charm of its own, but if pushed, we’d choose the River suite for its views and cushioned roll‑top bath; the so‑romantic Snowdrift suite for its dreamy four‑poster and beautiful light; or spacious Soft Winter for its huge soaking tub.
Packing tips
Bragging ability (useful after a successful fishing trip) and a sleeve to wear your heart on (the Millhouse is all about the romance).
Also
Time your visit to coincide with one of the big outdoor rock concerts held annually in the grounds of nearby Slane Castle (www.slanecastle.ie); past performers include the Rolling Stones, U2 and REM.
