The Balé
- Style
- Zen and sensibility
- Setting
- Clean, modern lines
Stylish and modern, with plenty of white stone and Zen-like buildings of pale brick and glass, The Balé is the ultimate retreat for those in search of peace and love.

- White walls and tiles contrast starkly with the deep-blue waters of the pool. Loungers, shaded by parasols and sinuous tree branches, lie on decking overlooking the two levels of water.
- Children
- Under-16s are not allowed in the resort.
- Also
- The resort is proud of its responsible tourism credentials. It recycles water and paper, and, where possible, forges links with the local community.
In the know
- Our favourite rooms
- At 240sq m the Single pavilions offer more than enough space, but our favourite is definitely the enormous 480sq m Deluxe Single number 38, which comes with a L-shaped 70sq m private pool. Double Pavilions 19 and 20 offer stunning views of the ocean.
- Packing tips
- Bring your tin whistle – the resort holds occasional jam sessions in the bar area.
- Also
- Private barbecues or candlelit dinners are practically encouraged here. Cooks and butlers will happily lug their fish slices and tongs over to your pavilion to do all the hard work while you soak up the atmosphere.
Food & drink
- Hotel restaurant
- Faces specialises in modern Mediterranean and Indonesian cusine –though the chef prides himself on getting to know the guests during the course of their stay, and tailor-making dishes to suit their individual tastes. Bliss serves up light dishes.
- Dress code
- Faces is casual during the day, smarter in the evening. Bathrobes and slippers are acceptable dining attire at Bliss, located in the spa, which seats only six people.
- Top table
- Ask staff to set up a private table for you in pavilion away from the main dining room.
- Last orders
- 10.30pm.
- Room service
- 24 hours.
- Hotel bar
- Fluid, situated beside the main pool, is the laid-back lounge where guests can relax with a margarita or mojito. With its soft lighting and Café del Mar-style soundtrack, it is more relaxed than a cat stretched out in sunlight.
