- Our favourite rooms
- Lumen’s rooms all have splashes of vivid colours and rich fabrics, but we love the Louvre Suite on the sixth floor for the double-whammy of views – rue des Pyramides on one side and St Roch church on the other. Although bedrooms aren’t huge (this is Paris, after all), they’re beautifully designed by Claudio Colucci – the bubble-like headboards are an especial treat.

Behind that inimitable Haussman façade, the slick art-deco interiors of Hotel Lumen are invitingly opulent: light shimmers on the polished stone lobby floor from the gigantic pyramidal chandelier, the reception desk sits ensconced in a crimson curtained alcove and two huge stone confessional chairs flank the threshold. Magnifique.

- Le Passage Saint Roch is a classic brasserie with a modern finish – rich burgundy walls, spotless glass tables and twinkling lights on the ceiling. The food is an accomplished rendition of traditional French, with a particularly delectable steak tartare on the menu.

- For a really romantic repas, the table on the terrace overlooking the church is unbeatable.
- Last orders
- Le Passage Saint Roch winds down at 10.30pm.
- Room service
- There’s a menu of light snacks available throughout the day and restaurant dishes can be ordered during opening hours.
- Hotel bar
- Drinks are available in the restaurant’s bar area, or in the first-floor lounge. Champagne cocktails are a speciality.
